Big Table

From time to time I think about big table to place all my art materials and be able to reach them easily when inspiration happens. I know which table suits me (Ikea, folding, wooden) but there is no room at all. What to do?
Here I used watercolor, Neocolor sticks (dark blue on the right was blue stick sharpened into the water puddles) dry and wet, pastel.

Every Day Matters list (here it is) is printed and stuck to the wall and always helps me with the ideas.
"Draw your TV and journal about favorite show".
Old TV with its old friends, Video and DVD players. My favorite activity is browsing through the channels without any long stops while I have meals. And then return to computer monitor. This old TV is not a minion anymore.
Red marker (not waterproof, as expected), sepia inkbrush, Neocolor II cobalt and b.sienna sticks, yellow ochre watercolor. And "Animal Planet" on.

Carol King decided that my blog is liebster=darling blog and nominated me with this award. Thank you Carol so much!
Now 5 darling blogs to pass the award to (how to choose only 5 among great blogs I read??? I do not know, but I'm trying) Susan, Tomas, Edgar and Suzanne, Nina, Petrea. Not sure about their "darling" state, but sure every time it's joy and inspiration to see updates in these blogs.
and 5 facts about me.
1. I feel so good in big city. Do not believe me if I start complaining about lack of fresh air, or heavy traffic and crowds.
2. I prefer tomatoes to cucumbers, cats to dogs, lawn tennis to judo.
3. I can not work if music's playing. Too distracting. Either music or work. But art-making and music feel fine together.
4. I love to look at my watercolor paintbox. It makes me hungry for painting.
5. In 2011 I learned how to work in 3D Max and Photoshop. By myself. I still can not believe I managed.
And now small sketches from the "dacha" life. Unfinished and very quick, but still they are a diary of my summer days. Happy painting, friends!

Last 10 days were dedicated to pigeons. Well, sounds lofty...
A friend of mine is in love with pigeons. He has dovecote and enjoys every birds' activity so much. So when he asked me to draw the pigeons for him, I was very interested and googled pictures of the birds to start with and to do my best.
I found great blog of Ariel Freeman (looks like she does not post anymore, but, still, here is the link, enjoy). And just copied her birds, painting turned artificial and heavy:
Then there were more birds, total of five attempts and the one he liked most is placed in the beginning of this post. Soon it will be framed and hanged on the wall!

"Dacha" life

These days inspiration lives in Moscow neighborhood, at summer house of my parents, "dacha".
Dragonfly. It drowned itself in the milk prepared for the cats. I washed the dead body and prepared it for photo shooting. Few minutes after the shooting was over, the dead body returned to life and dragonfly flied away. Unexpectedly. Nature is such a stress for me, city thing...
