Watercolor on Arches, 30x44cm (12"x17") |
Thank you very much for holidays greetings I received from many of you! Happy New Year to you, too!
This time I am in time with contribution to Rookiepainter blog. I painted on Arches and could not stop admiring the paper, try it if you did not already and tell me about your impression.

Drying persimmon branch (with funny drying garlic) and Christmas tree are from the sketchbook. First one from the photo I made during my trip to Georgia.

Little tree (about 60cm) is still standing on the counter, and will be removed only on 14th January, New Year Eve (Old Russian calendar).
Your Rookiepainter painting is wonderful, I love the reflections, and the strawberries look great! Your sketches I like very much, especially the Christmas tree, it is almost real!
ReplyDeleteVery very nice! I love those bowls Irina, superb job. Gotta write down your sketchbook brand name for future orders, looks like it holds watercolors pretty well
ReplyDeleteJudy, thank you. I am so glad.
ReplyDeleteTeresa, thank you. It is Daler Rowney 150gr acid free cartridge paper. You are right, it is very good with water. Here, no spirals type: http://www.daler-rowney.com/en/content/ebony-sketchbooks

ReplyDeleteHi Irina, You have more great work, the challenge painting with the reflections is wonderful. Hope your sketch pad will be bursting at the seams with wonderful ideas this year.
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job on the challenge painting - love how finished the bowls are compared to the more looser strawberries - well done! I like your persimmons (I've never seen them anywhere but in a grocery store). And it's interesting you keep up your little tree until the 14th. How fun and cute this is - lots of great things to share to start the new year :) I hope it's a great one for you!
ReplyDeleteExcellent work Irina! You captured the sheen of the bowls wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you , the Arches paper is a whole different experience. All wonderful paintings Irina, the first one is excellent, great reflection...and I love the christmas tree so vibrant with color, and the little toy underneath just sets the mood! Brava!!
