Watercolor, w.pencils in sketchbook |
Today I went to Art museum to see exhibition of Blake's watercolors (Google helps) and on the way out decided to practice sketching sculpture. As it turned out they do not allow to sketch without written consent of museum's head (sic!). So I would have to make arrangements later, but today I chose my victim. He. Sleeping Faun. He was breathing in his sleep, believe me, I saw his chest moving.
And they do not allow to make photos, too.
Missed you too! I love the orchid flowers and the leaves, very well painted! That faun statue is gorgeous, love to see the sketches! Hope the head approves.
ReplyDeletetoo much bureaucracy in this museum, do not you think Irina? Loved your flower!xx
ReplyDeleteHello Irina,
ReplyDeletevery beautiful orchid, delicious watercolor!
A big hug
Very beautiful flower painting with nice value contrast and good volume.
ReplyDeleteAh museums... Beautiful tonalities and composition!
ReplyDeleteYour orchids are very beautiful, teaches us a thing or two about life isnt it!It is pity, you cant sketch the exhibit without permission, I had thought we could do so.
ReplyDeleteHi Irina, your orchids look very beautiful, nice colors with an original composition (they seems two watercolors, the vase and the flowers). Waiting to see your faun sketch. Ciao!
ReplyDeleteWonderful orchid. It's wonderful to 'document' it's life!
ReplyDeletebeautiful composition and study irina ...blake's work must have been inspiring ..sorry you weren't able sketch .
ReplyDeleteNice composition! The off-balance emphasized the flower beautifully.
ReplyDeleteNice panting, and I really like the portrait in the previous post.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful orchid. I really like your composition and colors.
ReplyDeleteAnd about that museum...they are very bossy, aren't they?
hi gud pictures....
ReplyDeleteawsome art........
ReplyDeleteso cute
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you didn't have in the museum - no sketching and no photos (?)!
ReplyDeleteWe went to a store (very hoity toity) which used to be a very rich person's home. Anyway, now it's a store that doesn't allow photos. So your museum isn't too awfully terrible. Melissa likes to make photos with her phone camera to see how "stuff" might look in our home. We seem to be in short supply of "stuff".
I REALLY LIKE what you've been doing with your art. I have not painted or been in my studio since December 27th. Can't get in a painting mood.
Hugs,
KenB
