Watercolor, 30x40cm |
September and March are my most busy months at work. But I try to manage to get to the drawing class and to practice at home and sometimes it works.
The lady is Venus, oil in the drawing class. The gentleman, in watercolor, is inspired by photo in my uncle's photo-portraits folder.
I put the gentleman portrait first as he is more "mine" then the lady, which was painted under the attentive eye of my art teacher.

Hi, Irina - both are lovely. The value structure in the oil is excellent making her face read very well! And I think your watercolor is fabulous - very Modigliani!
ReplyDeleteI like them both! I agree with Susan, there is a little Modigliani in the watercolor, I love it!
ReplyDeleteBoth fabulous pieces Irina. Though I do see what the others mean about Modigliani too. Beautiful light effect in your watercolour.
ReplyDeleteyou have a good eye for faces irina ..top one caught my eye in the thumbnail .
ReplyDeleteI like both Irina, particularly the first one, knowing how difficult is painting with watercolors. You are becoming more and more skilled, these two works are the clear demonstration of your improvements. Have a good week. Ciao.
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful and I think the top one is great!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful portraits, Irina! The watercolour is very successful, a typical expression of a man posing for a picture. I'm amazed by the whites of the oil one too.
ReplyDeleteHi, Irina,
ReplyDeleteThe face in watercolour looks great! Congrats! Your work has a mood that attracts viewers.
Kind regards, Sadami
I love the expression and the light on the face of the watercolor gentleman, very well done, and the oil is perfection, you can do it all !
ReplyDeleteExcellent work Irina! I like them both, but if I had to chose it would be the lady, the man seems like he's from an Agatha Christie novel! :-)
ReplyDeleteSeptember is half way done, hopefully you won't be quite so busy in October!
Cheers.
Thank you so much, friends!!
ReplyDeleteVery good work, Irina. The gentleman is great and remember me the Modigliani style :-)))))
