Food like national idea. Food like joy and adventure. Food as source of beauty and aesthetic taste. Food as method of self-expression and self-esteem.
So there is no surprise that every smallest grocery shop is masterpiece in decoration and content.
I know what you mean, Irina. I just landed in Australia and I'm going around taking pictures of the beautiful food on display in the shops.
ReplyDeleteEnjoying your artwork on France!
Thank you, Dina! I wish you all the best in your Australian adventure!
DeleteSomething about France has brought out a new definition of style in your paintings! I loved Paris, too. Wish I could go back soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you Petrea. I felt like I became a bit French myself, when returned. Now, 3 weeks later, French air in me already evaporated. But when I did these sketches, you are so right, I was still very influenced by gorgeous France.
DeleteYour sketches of France are so beautiful. Loose and free. And detailed. I love the detail in this sketch of the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carol! Somehow the drawing of the details makes me meditative and calm, though should have opposite effect, I think.
