Early Morning in Ikea Cafe

Deserted Ikea, right after the opening, gave me kind of surrealistic feeling. Empty rooms, which are always so alive and crowded, were calm and lonely. Cafe, silent and loaded with food. Little version of planet Earth after the end of times.

Ordinary disastrous every day events in my country and overall rise of temperature in the world completely washed away my wish to express myself in blogging. But suddenly the spammers helped. The amount of spam became unbearable, which usually shows that blog is forgotten by its owner and needs revival. So here I am, drawing, painting, blogging. I hope you are all right out there, my friends.

  1. Irina, I certainly know the feeling. We're experiencing "disastrous every day events," too, and though they don't feel ordinary I'm afraid they'll become that way.

I'm glad you're back! I was thinking of you.

    1. Petrea, I am so sorry I do not follow your blog at all.
Your "disastrous things" turned even deeper upside down my vision of our cracked and shaken life. The only hope I have is that your country is strong and wise enough to mince the current disaster and turn it into useful compost. Not so sure about here.
Anyway I hope the thriller we live in right now will turn into beautiful piece of art, someday.

    2. I hope we'll be strong and wise, too. I'm not feeling hopeful at the moment, but I will feel good again tomorrow.

The reply profile choices I have here on your site don't allow me to link to my blog (through clicking on my name), but it's here if you want to visit sometime. http://petreaburchard.com/blog/

    3. No links allowed? I had no idea. Or have not checked for years and forgot, sorry.

    4. I'm on Wordpress now and not Blogger, so the change is probably at my end. Some blogger blogs have a setting for the different ways a commenter can sign in. You select your profile, and the only one I can use that shows my link is "Name/URL." Some blogs offer that option and some don't.

  2. Hi, Irina! Your sketch is very well done, but you're right - it is strange to see Ikea lonely. So nice to see you're posting to your blog again. Welcome back!

    1. Thank you, Karen. As for my joyful paintings, my friends joke that my optimism is so strong, it is very close to idiocy.. well, it is tested now very sharply.
Anyway we are all in the middle of some amazing historical events. Though I expected we here would entertain and first world would only watch...
      Hugs!
