Another attempt of mine to solve the secret of transparent and breathing watercolors of inexpliсable, inimitable, talented and unpredictable Mr. Charles Reid (his site).

"Visit Norway" Poster

This is the final view of the poster, which fate will be decided tomorrow.
I used  the photos of my drawings and arranged them in Photoshop, adding text in different fonts, adding Norwegian ornament for the background.
Nice experience. My first illustration and design experience.
12 things to do in Norway this summer:
1. Ohhhh, nature!
2. To see the wooden church.
3. To buy troll and to see the Norwegian cat.
4. To go fishing and to eat fish.
5. To get scared with Munch.
6. To feel Hardangervidda.
7. To fall in love with Bergen.
8. To drink beer in Oslo
9. To experience a ferry.
10. To learn about vikings.
11. To get surprised by Vigeland.
12. To love Norway with the deep of your heart and forever.

That was very interesting experience. Trying to repeat colors, strokes and movement of the famous painting, I have suddenly got into some special mood. Was it the shadow of Mr. Munch or the shadow of this crying guy himself, I do not know, but I have felt like I was the part of this performance. 

Copying Masters

Here I try to copy the impressionistic style and blinding light of artwork of Bato Dugarjapov, modern artist from Russia. He is great, click here to see the best I could find Pinterest exposition.
Midtones are difficult for me, this study was difficult too.

Copying Masters

20x15cm, Ink Pen

While studying the book "Drawing with pen and Ink" by Guptill (link here) I was amazed by variety and diversity of strokes of ink pen offered by the author.
So I decided to copy one of the illustrations, by Addison B. Le Boutillier. A lot of patience and accuracy required, not my strongest features they are.

Here I make a copy of stained glass window in Irish medieval castle.
15th century artist framed small pieces of transparent glass and painted each piece separately.

The upper sketch is copy of 2010 watercolor of F.M.Marrouch (here) done with the only brush and two colors, ultramarine blue and burnt sienna.
In 2010 I was impressed by this painting and had no idea how it was executed. Now, 3 years later, seems like I know)))

Sketch below is inspired by photo, again of 2010, and I have no clue about the author.
And at last I feel fed up with copying of masters' works for the time being.
