3000 miles through New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and California. I feel like my heart is ready to blow away because of the beauty I've seen and protection I've felt, because of all the nicest people I made friends with on my road, because of the amazing present to see our fragile little planet I received.
Irina, I didn't know you were going to be here! It sounds like you have fallen in love with the desert. Some people don't understand it, but I think you do. Remember - I told you Russians and Americans hit it off:) I'm glad you had a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteThank you Candy! I fell in love with your country long ago, this time, you are so right, I have fallen in love with the desert in its amazing variety of color and shape, with my comfort and confidence on the road, with researcher's mood so very fully and well satisfied.
DeleteI didn't know, either! I live in California. I would love to have seen you! But I'm glad you got to see so much of the beauty and meet the good people! You'll have plenty of desert scenes to paint.
ReplyDeleteThank you Petrea! I wanted to see you so much, but our schedule was so tight, maybe sometime next time. I am so overwhelmed with the beauty I have seen, I can not even make myself to look through the photos. And yes, the impulse to draw is boiling and waiting to be released.
DeleteLucky you! It sounds and looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGunn, it was childhood dream. Almost 3 weeks and 5000 km. I decided: now or never, considering what's going on here, at home.
DeleteI'm so glad to know you had a good journey!
ReplyDeleteKaren, thank you! I am just plain happy, I close my eyes and I am back to sequoias, breathing the air, listening to the silence. A little crazy, yes, but so happily crazy.
DeleteI wish I had known! I would have loved to see you at the Grand Canyon! I'm glad you had a wonderful journey and were able to see so many beautiful places.
ReplyDeleteJudy, thank you! I was considering to visit Prescott to see you, but our schedule was so tight. We stopped in Flagstaff to see Sedona and GC and then moved farther. Your Arizona is a gem, unforgettable beauty.
DeleteGlad you experienced it all
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cloudia. I am so glad too and so thankful I had this opportunity.
DeleteLooks like you had a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteYes, I did. I was happy all along 19 days, great experience.
DeleteHi Irina! Happy to see you in this wonderful trip! Artists must travel and be surrounded by beauty! Enjoy. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anamaria!
DeleteThat is a lot to travel in one stretch, but I know it must have been heaven! I did fall in love with Sedona and just want to visit one more time!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, heaven, so true. Sedona was gorgeous. And I was completely carried away by valley of monuments. And overall, the power of desert was a huge revelation for me.
