Roses at Dacha Castle

Roses are my mother's pride and joy, together with her "dacha" castle.

Out the Window 15. Evening Sky Drama

Yet still the view from the window is endless source of inspiration.

Room With A View

The view from the window as the worst nightmare for the introvert.

Rainy Day

What to draw in airport on rainy day when your plane is one hour delayed.

The Winter Day

I try here to catch the monochrome of ordinary winter day and make it a little more colorful.

New pen (Lamy Safari)

Pages from the sketchbook. I was experimenting with new fountain pen (Lamy Safari). And made pencil sketches for the birthday present from previous post.

Empty Birdhouses

The fall surprises us at warm and dry days, but the birds are not fooled: their houses will stay empty until next spring.

I am still deep into "work" mode, and dreaming about switching into "creativity" one, secretly in fear that I have completely forgotten how to draw during this long break.
I returned to drawing class and hope this activity will help me with transfiguration. Meanwhile one more dull still life in pencil from drawing class.

Cirali Yard

I have not enjoyed the relaxing experience of  hammock since my vacations at grandma's, thirty years ago.
What a wonderful activity flying up in the sky.

Pine Trees in Cirali

The road to the beach in Cirali is surrounded by sand fields where turtles lay eggs. This emptiness allows infrequent pines to grow huge and so beautiful crowns (looking like Roman pine trees for me).

Plein Air

This Saturday our drawing group was sketching outdoors, in the park near Moskva-river. I did 2 sketches in 3 hours and it was the best time spent in my busy rhythm of last fortnight. Peace and calmness returned to my soul.
Pastel on dark grey and light blue papers.

Windows

Hi my dearest readers!
My internet is limited this week, so I can not visit your blogs, hopefully I'll do next week, I miss them so much.

Meanwhile  my "Spring in Moscow" sketchbook pages (soon, only one page later, I will start new sketchbook!) and small winter watercolor I am afraid I forgot to post before.

And thank you so much, Angela, the very interesting and  special sketcher, for following my blog!

I keep

I keep painting my Adriatic memories (from the photo reference). And a quick sketch for EDM #next (link), "Draw a chair".

St.Petersburg

Last week I went to St.Petersburg. For sightseeing. Very beautiful. But for me it was difficult to find inspiration in the city with straight streets, square houses and almost no trees. Well, difficult for chronic Muscovite who loves the chaos of Moscow. So I went to the woods around the city and enjoyed every moment of the palaces and mansions surrounded with trees.  They are gorgeous, I will post photos and you will agree with me. Mansions and trees.
One sketch was done in the downtown, as tribute to Sketchcrawl Moscow (link here) and worldwide sketchcrawl.

The second one is the side view of the Peterhof residence of Russian Tzars.

And the last one was drawn in Pavlovsk, 40km from St.Petersberg, residence of Tzar Pavel.
The weather was wonderful and the places were so kind to me.
And few photos made in Pavlovsk.

Sketchbook #3

My sketchbook #3 was full today. 9 months and 65 pages of experience, joy and pleasure. The final pages were filled today at my parents place, surrounded by the summer in full bloom and patient parents, ready to pose for the "famous to be soon" artist as long as needed for the masterpiece to be created.))

Sketching in the Park

One year ago I was lying on the grass at exactly the same place and drawing the same group of trees. Here (link) posted my July 2009 experiment.
Are there any changes one year later? I hope so. Interesting how it would look in 2011.

I go to drawing school. I read so much priceless info about drawing and watercolor, I practice every day. I think and I analyse. And then - blaams!!! - I forget everything and draw next red barn, quickly, in 20 minutes, with no idea, just for pure pleasure of red and chaos.

In the Garden

Next visit to parent's place  gave me few hours for sketching outdoors and indoors.. Such a pleasure.
