21 Days of Creativity. Day 21.

21 Days of Creativity. Day 21. Last day!
Task is "Make your own book, collection of ideas". I decided to make collage of my works created during this project to keep them all together for future reference.

I liked the project because it was fun.
I liked the project, as it trained me to work daily, without excuses.
I liked it for the freedom and lack of control (no control? - very unusual for my life)).
I liked it for the courage it gave me to post any crap in my blog. To be more myself here.
I liked it for your attention and kindest comments. Thank you so much!

21 Days of Creativity. Days 16-20.

I decided to combine several tasks, hoping this would make my pages deeper and more interesting (to be honest, I have enough of this scrapbooking experience, and try to round it out), so:
Task 16. Use layers.
(And these are the instruction how to make typical scrapbooking page, I did them step by step to decorate my idea of "man and grapes")):
1. Ink cotton swabs and make dots.
2. Blotts from ink bottle.
3. Forget brushes and find some other painting sticks.
4. Paint the top of the page, spray with water and see how free designs form on your paper.
5. Stamps.
6. Add water to ink to reach different shades of grey.
7. Accident lines made by 3 colors.
8. Stencils.
9. Sketch something by hand.
10. Write some text with closed eyes.
11.Draw green leaves from memory.
12. Draw frame.
13. Use white markers.
14. Use black markers.

Task 17. Use stencils (see p.8)
Task 18. Use stamps (see p.5)
Task 19. Relax and enjoy the web pages about scrapbooking.
Task 20. Interpret the ideas you found during relaxing in task 19.

21 Days of Creativity. Day 15.

Doodling.
Looks like we move at parallel roads - the project and my realization of it.
Here I tried palette knife for the first time when painted Buddha and birds.
6 more tasks to go. Creative freedom feels so good.

21 Days of Creativity. Day #13.

Task was "Patterns". Find/copy/draw pattern and cover the whole page with it.

I have no idea what is going on here.
I only know that it was impossible and boring for me to methodically draw one and the same pattern.

It should be idea behind any work of art.

21 Days of Creativity. Day 8.

Task #8 - I have to use gesso as background, add watercolor, zentangles.
As usual I do it my way. As usual, I use all the materials on my table, this time ink and calligraphy  pen (new experience!) is added.
A friend of my commented (she is also in this project): "At last! we buy materials because of empty stock and not because we like shopping".

21 Days of Creativity. Day #7.

Day 7 task is to use more layers and more stamps.
A bit obsessed with orange and reds in general as I look back at 7 days of creativity.

21 Days of Creativity. Day #6.

This scrapbook's style starts getting on my nerves.. I miss straight idea and order of my boring usual sketches!
But. It gives me freedom to use any possible color, to switch on fantasy and teaches me to be sincere with my blog and honest with my readers.
So 6 days are behind and 15 days to go.
Here I took oil pastels (forgotten in the fridge till today) and used them for the accents.
Wall paper roll again, acrylic paint, coloured paper collage, paper dots from punch, palette knife, plastic card, glue.

21 Days of Creativity. Day #5

21 Days of Creativity. Day #5 - Make and use your own stamps and stencils.
That was fun, again.
This activity hardly adds anything to my drawing and painting skill, but it frees and relaxes for sure.

21 Days of Creativity. Day #3

The task was: Go minimalistic.
So I did.
To tell the truth, when I start, I do not know how the finished page will look. This time I decided to fish any one color from the box and use it as background. Then it was some glue and holes living in the hole punch compartment freely salted around, then brown craft paper stripes were cut and glued to the background with no idea and outlined by brown crayon.

21 Days of Сreativity. Day #2.

The task was: Flowers, any possible way.
Yes, I see the spelling mistake now..
Flowers did not expect I'd do so many manipulations here.
Ink, watercolor, marker, white gesso, packing paper, acrylic paint with palette knife and fingers, crayons. Oh, I was happy in this process!

Brushes and Zygocactus

Quick sketch from life, 30x40cm size, acrylic paint. Acrylic is new to me and feels like guache, too chalky (or maybe I used too much white when mixing the colors, following my practices in oil) and dull.
But if I use it for multi-colored background on my sketchbook's pages, acryl should work fine, I am sure.

Flowers

The purity of acrylic colors makes me the slave of this media.
This sketch was inspired by balcony flowers and made with acrylic paint I bought last summer for "paint on glass" experiments. Surprisingly, paint survived almost a year, but is slowly getting thicker, which is good, as thickness adds texture and bad, as I have to speed up with sketches before paint'll dry out completely.

Onions

My aunt put it straight: "It is time for onions!" And planted three onion bulbs into the flower pot on window -sill. She can not plant them outdoors, it is -12C and show mountains are high out there. Her personal protest action against winter.

It is acrylics (for glass and ceramics, bought in the summer and getting thicker in plastic cans - which explains the texture) in my sketchbook.

Experiments with Acrylic Paint

Still almost no time for drawing so I show you today my sketches done quickly on windowsill before the sun gone away.
Upper photo is my experiment with acrylic colouring of drawing done on dry paper with black ink.

The second photo is my attempt to copy the small house in snowy park I saw on my way home.

Today I read in Darleen's blog that she is hooked on "Shameless".
My TV hook these evenings is every minute of 22 minutes episodes of  old "Taxi" with Andy Kaufman and Danny DeVito. It is so funny and kind, it feels like fresh air for me during these busy and fast days.
